A long distance chauffeur service, door to door

A long distance chauffeur service, sometimes called a city to city chauffeur service or a point to point chauffeur service, takes you from your front door to your destination in one journey. As a result, MCH sends one chauffeur and one Mercedes-Benz car, so there are no changes, no timetables and no hand-overs along the way.

Because every A to B transfer is a one-way journey or a return, you can see exactly what each route costs before you book. MCH covers the whole UK as a long distance chauffeur UK-wide, so choose your destination below and ask for a written quote.

How it works

City to city chauffeur transfers: one way, return or reverse

A long distance transfer is a journey, so if you need a car at your disposal in one city, see our hourly chauffeur hire by the day instead.

One way

Manchester to your destination

A single journey, one driver and a fixed written quote, so you know the price first.

Return

Out and back, booked as two journeys

MCH books a return as its own journey, even on the same day, so it applies a return discount wherever possible.

The reverse run

Your destination to Manchester

MCH prices and quotes London to Manchester, Edinburgh to Manchester and the rest the same way, so the reverse run is just as clear.

The standard behind the price

Not every chauffeur service is the same

Plenty of services call themselves an executive chauffeur service, but few offer an executive standard, so check what you are paying for before you book a long distance chauffeur UK wide.

What to compare when choosing a long distance chauffeur
What to checkOften described as a chauffeur serviceWith MCH
Meet and greetOften not offeredA digital name board and clear collection instructions
On boardRarely any extrasComplimentary bottled water, Wi-Fi where available
ChauffeurOften casual dressSuit and tie, because first impressions count
Vetting and coverVariesDBS-checked chauffeurs, so cover and vetting are clear, with hire and reward insurance
PriceOften unclear until the endA fixed written quote before you travel

A general comparison, because standards vary by provider. Ask any service what its quote includes.

More than six passengers?

Minibuses and coaches run through licensed partner operators, but MCH stays your single point of contact. See the full fleet, or compare our minibus hire in Manchester and coach hire in Manchester pages.

Staying away overnight?

Multi-day chauffeur hire

A long distance transfer is one journey, so if you need a car and chauffeur across several days, MCH plans that separately, starting with a private tour or a golf trip.

Questions about long distance travel

Long distance chauffeur service: your questions answered

What is a long distance chauffeur service?

In short, a long distance chauffeur service is a pre-booked, door-to-door journey between cities with one chauffeur, one executive car and one written quote, often called a city to city chauffeur service. Comfort breaks on the way are part of it.

How much does a chauffeur from Manchester to London cost?

As a guide, a one-way Manchester to London chauffeur journey is about £460 plus VAT in an E-Class and £650 plus VAT in a V-Class. Your written quote is final, while MCH prices a return journey as its own trip, with a discount where possible.

How long does it take to get from Manchester to London by chauffeur?

About four hours in normal traffic for roughly 200 miles via the M6 and M1, which is typical for a long distance chauffeur service UK-wide.

Is a return journey cheaper?

MCH books a return as a separate journey, even on the same day. However, it applies a nominal return discount wherever possible, and your quote shows both journeys clearly.

Can I book a day trip to London and back?

Yes. MCH books the outward journey as a one-way transfer, so the chauffeur waits during your meetings, and then MCH books the return as its own journey. Waiting time costs extra, so ask for the full day in one quote.

Can the chauffeur wait for me at the destination?

Yes, as long as the chauffeur's schedule allows, so MCH includes 30 minutes of waiting at non-airport collections, and beyond that waiting is typically £50 to £70 per hour plus VAT, depending on the car.

Can I stop on the way?

Yes. Comfort breaks for refreshments, the toilet or a stretch are part of the journey, so just ask your chauffeur. Longer stops or extra destinations are quoted with the journey.

Which cars do you use, and how many people can travel?

We use the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, V-Class, S-Class and Customised V-Class, and we match the car to your passengers and luggage, so tell us the numbers when you ask for a quote. A V-Class carries up to six passengers with their luggage, and for larger groups we can send several V-Classes or arrange a Sprinter, minibus or coach through licensed partner operators.

Do you offer A to B and point to point chauffeur transfers?

Yes. Every long distance transfer is a point to point journey with one collection address, one drop-off and one written quote, so an A to B chauffeur run from Manchester to London or Leeds is priced as a single trip, one way or return.

Can I book from a destination back to Manchester?

Yes. The reverse run is quoted in the same way as the outward one, as the section above explains, so send the pickup address, the date and the time.

Do you cover places that are not on the route list?

Yes. The list shows common routes, but MCH is a long distance chauffeur service UK-wide, so ask for a written quote for any destination.

Is long distance hire the same as hourly hire?

No. Hourly hire keeps one car with you in one area, while a long distance transfer is a single journey with its own quote, so see hourly chauffeur hire if your plan stays in one city.
