Golf tours UK: chauffeur-driven transport to the finest links courses

Golf tours UK should be about the golf, not the journey. So your golf chauffeur meets you at the airport, loads your clubs and drives you from Manchester or Liverpool to Southport, Lytham, Hoylake and beyond in an executive Mercedes.

Golf tours UK: a chauffeur for the journey, not the round

However, a golf trip rarely goes wrong on the course. It goes wrong on the way there, because a late flight, a taxi too small for the clubs or a long drive after a long day can all take the shine off a good weekend. A golf chauffeur takes that worry away, so your golf tour in the UK starts with the first tee and not the traffic.

We provide the transport and nothing else, so everything stays simple. You arrange your tee times, your hotels and your flights, and then we connect them, so the airport, the hotel and the clubhouse all sit on one calm timetable. Your chauffeur loads the clubs at the start and unloads them at the clubhouse, so you do not need to lift a bag.

However many you are, whether two friends on a long weekend or a society of twelve, we plan the vehicle around the number of golfers and sets of clubs. Please tell us the numbers, and we will be happy to suggest the right car, whether you travel from Manchester, Liverpool or further afield.

How a golf transfer day runs

Here is a typical trip, so you can see where a chauffeur fits. Your own plan may differ, and we will be happy to adjust the times and the stops.

ShotStageWhat happens
1

Touchdown

Your chauffeur meets you at Heathrow or Manchester Airport, then helps with the luggage and the clubs, and settles you in the car.

2

The coast

Next comes the drive to the coast, usually to Southport, Lytham or the Wirral. Stop for coffee or lunch on the way if you wish, because the car is yours for the day.

3

First tee

Your chauffeur takes you to the clubhouse door, and then unloads your clubs in good time for your tee time.

4

Your round

While you play, your chauffeur waits within the hours you have booked, so the car is ready as soon as you finish.

5

The 19th hole

Afterwards, we take you to dinner or back to your hotel, so everyone can enjoy a drink without thinking about the drive.

6

Homeward

At the end of the trip, we drive you back to the airport so you reach your flight in good time, or on to your next course.

Golf transport for two golfers or twenty

The right vehicle depends on how many golfers travel and how many sets of clubs come with them, so we match the vehicle the way you would match a club to the shot.

  1. Two or three golfers · the iron

    Mercedes V-Class

Plenty of room for two or three golfers with their clubs and luggage, although we suggest three as the maximum, so full sets of clubs have room.

    See the V-Class
  2. Four golfers or more · the driver

    Executive Sprinter

There is more space for people and clubs, so the journey stays comfortable.

    Meet the Executive Sprinter
  3. Societies and larger groups · the full bag

    Minibus or coach

When a society or a corporate golf day travels together, a 16-seater minibus or a coach keeps everyone together.

Golf tours UK: chauffeur prices as a guide

Every golf trip is different, so we give a guide first and a written quote afterwards.

Tee sheet · guide price from£700plus VAT, for ten hours
Vehicle
A Mercedes V-Class and an experienced chauffeur, for two or three golfers.
Length
A ten-hour day, from the time you choose.
Transfers
Airport transfers and one-way journeys are quoted separately, by route.
Larger parties
An Executive Sprinter, a minibus or a coach is quoted on request.

This is a guide, not a fixed price, because the route, the hours, the vehicle and any overnight stay all change the figure, so your written quote confirms exactly what you pay.

Planning more than one day on the links?

A golf week often covers several courses and a few nights away, so the same chauffeur and car stay with you throughout. In addition, your quote shows your chauffeur’s accommodation, which is typically £70 to £250 a night, together with an overnight charge for meals and incidentals.

Our multi-day page includes a worked three-day example, so you can see how a trip from Manchester to St Andrews and Edinburgh comes together.

Golf tours UK and your golf chauffeur: questions answered

What are chauffeur-driven golf tours in the UK?

When you book golf tours UK with a chauffeur, we drive you and your clubs between the airport, your hotel and the courses you are playing. We provide the transport only, while you arrange tee times and accommodation yourselves, so you can relax before and after each round.

How much does a golf chauffeur cost?

Although every trip differs, a day in a Mercedes V-Class starts from £700 plus VAT for ten hours. However, the final price depends on the route, the hours, the vehicle and any overnight stay, so we confirm the figure in a written quote.

How many golfers can travel in a V-Class?

Two or three golfers with their clubs and luggage travel comfortably in a Mercedes V-Class, but we suggest three as the maximum with full sets. If you are four or more, please ask about an Executive Sprinter, or a larger vehicle for societies.

Can you collect us from Heathrow or Manchester Airport?

Yes. Many golf trips begin at Heathrow or Manchester Airport, so we drive you straight to the coast. From Heathrow it is a long journey, so we agree the timings with you in writing first.

Can you take us to the Southport golf links and Royal Birkdale?

Yes. Southport makes a natural base for Royal Birkdale and its neighbours, so we drive you from Manchester, Liverpool or the airport to the clubhouse door. Lytham, Formby and the rest of the coast are a short drive from there, so many guests play two or three courses in one trip.

Do you drive to Wirral and Liverpool golf courses such as Hoylake?

Yes. We drive to Royal Liverpool at Hoylake and to other Wirral golf and Liverpool golf courses, and we also cover North Wales, Scotland and the rest of the UK. We are independent of the clubs, so you book tee times with them directly.

Do you book tee times or hotels for us?

No. We provide golf transport only, so you arrange tee times, hotels and flights yourselves. After that, we plan the driving around your arrangements.

Can you take us between courses during the trip?

Yes. Golf transfers between courses, hotels and restaurants work well when the same chauffeur and car stay with you, so you can play several courses without arranging a taxi each time.

Will the chauffeur wait while we play?

Yes, because we plan the waiting time within the hours you have booked. Your chauffeur waits for you, so the car is ready as soon as you finish, and your written quote shows the waiting time.

What about larger golf groups?

For societies and corporate golf days, we use an Executive Sprinter, a 16-seater Sprinter minibus or a coach, but we quote those on request. Once you tell us the numbers, we will suggest the right combination.

Do you cover Scotland and multi-day golf trips?

Yes. The same chauffeur and car stay with you across several days, for example from Manchester to St Andrews and Edinburgh. Also, your quote shows your chauffeur’s accommodation, typically £70 to £250 a night, together with an overnight charge for meals and incidentals.

What if our plans change?

Because MCH reserves a chauffeur and vehicle once payment is taken and the booking is allocated, refunds are not available after that point. Standard notice is 24 hours, but trips that run for several days need longer, which we tell you in your quote.
