What multi-day chauffeur hire means
Multi-day chauffeur hire is a booking for two or more consecutive days, in which one chauffeur and one vehicle stay with you, including overnight, instead of you rebooking each morning.
Because the chauffeur stays away from home, a multi day booking includes more than a day rate. It also covers the chauffeur’s overnight costs, and we plan it across the whole trip, so the route, the hotels and the timings fit together. So we quote a chauffeur for several days as a programme, not as a series of single days.
The vehicle can be a Mercedes V-Class, an Executive Sprinter or something larger, so you can choose by group size. We quote from a standard V-Class, so the figures below are easy to compare, and you can ask about a larger vehicle whenever you like.

All three move you by chauffeur, but they suit different trips, so here is how to choose.

A car and chauffeur stay at your disposal for a day of stops, and the day finishes in the same district. It also has a three-hour minimum.

Because a multi-day booking is worth planning properly, where it starts matters less than where it goes.
However, a private driver for a few days does not need to start in Manchester. So we collect you from your own address, wherever that is, and then we plan the route from there, whether the trip heads to the Lake District, the Cotswolds, Edinburgh or the Highlands.
Your chauffeur will be fully briefed on the itinerary, although our chauffeurs are not tour guides. We are happy to help with routes, locations and hotels and to share our recommendations, and the final choices are yours. Overnight chauffeur hire: where your chauffeur stays
When a trip includes a night away, your chauffeur will need somewhere to stay close to where you are staying. We will advise on the most affordable accommodation that is suitable and nearby. The earlier we can plan, the more cost effective it usually becomes, because last-minute arrangements tend to cost more.

- Accommodation typically costs £70 to £250 a night, depending on the place, the time of year and how early we plan.
- Any accommodation is invoiced to you, with every expense itemised, so you can be happy with everything before we move forward.

Each example below is an approximate guide, not a fixed price, because the mileage, the route, the start point and the season all change the figure.
Every example includes the chauffeur, fuel, vehicle and an overnight charge for your chauffeur’s meals and incidentals. Your chauffeur’s accommodation is additional, typically £70 to £250 a night, and we invoice it to you with every expense itemised. Every example is priced from a standard Mercedes V-Class unless it says otherwise, and every figure is plus VAT. Hotels are examples of places you could stay, not endorsements, and availability and prices vary. For a larger vehicle, please contact us and we will be glad to quote it.
We will also quote tolls, parking and any additional mileage in writing, after working out the total mileage for the whole trip.

What is multi-day chauffeur hire?
Multi-day chauffeur hire is a booking for two or more consecutive days in which the same chauffeur and the same vehicle stay with you, including overnight. We plan and quote it as one programme, instead of as a series of single days.
How much does multi day chauffeur hire cost?
It depends on the mileage, the route, the start point and the season, so we give approximate guides first. For example, three days in North Wales in a V-Class is about £2,500, a four-day roadshow in a V-Class is about £3,200 and five days of TV location work is about £4,000, all plus VAT and plus your chauffeur’s accommodation. Meanwhile, three days to Edinburgh and St Andrews in an Executive Sprinter is about £5,000 plus VAT.
Who pays for the chauffeur’s accommodation?
Any accommodation provided for your chauffeur is invoiced to you, the client. We itemise all of our expenses and share them with you, so you can be happy with everything before we move forward. We will also advise on the most affordable suitable accommodation near where you are staying, which is typically £70 to £250 a night depending on the place, the time of year and how early we plan.
What is the overnight charge?
It covers your chauffeur’s meals and incidentals while away from home. We show it in your quote together with the accommodation, so you can see the full overnight cost before you commit.
Can I hire a chauffeur for a week?
Yes, certainly. We quote a chauffeur for a week as a programme, so we plan the days, the overnights and the route together. Also, the earlier you tell us the dates, the more choice you have and the more cost effective the plan usually is.
Does the chauffeur stay near us?
Yes. We arrange suitable accommodation for your chauffeur close to where you are staying, so the vehicle can be ready at the time you choose each morning.
Can you collect me from anywhere in the UK?
Yes. For a multi-day booking, the start point matters less than the plan, so we collect from your own address and plan the route from there. Also, the quote covers longer positioning journeys.
Which vehicle do you quote for?
First, we quote from a standard Mercedes V-Class, which carries up to six passengers. If you need an Executive Sprinter for up to eight, a 16-seater or a coach, please contact us and we will be happy to quote it, using our licensed partner operators where needed.
Do you offer a private driver for tours?
Yes. A private driver for several days is how many guests use multi-day hire, so our private chauffeur tours pages cover the main destinations. Your chauffeur will be briefed on the itinerary, although our chauffeurs are not tour guides, so you remain in control of where to go and what to book.
Can you provide a roadshow chauffeur or cover a TV shoot?
Yes. A roadshow chauffeur can stay with a sales team or a conference programme for several days, while production crews can book the same way. We quote both individually as programmes, and we can agree account terms with approved recurring clients.
How does payment work for multi-day bookings?
You save your card securely through Stripe when you request the booking, and MCH usually charges it about 24 hours before travel, or earlier for multi-day bookings. If we need payment earlier, we will let you know in good time, and chauffeurs never take payment.
What if our plans change?
Because MCH reserves a chauffeur and vehicle once payment is taken and the booking is allocated, refunds are not available after that point. Standard notice is 24 hours, but trips of several days need longer, which we will tell you in your quote. Please let us know as early as you can if anything changes, and we will do our best to help.
